Some experts are of the option that a higher intake of proteins may assist in controlling acne. This may have something to do with the theory that a larger intake of protein causes the decreased production of the enzyme that causes oil production and which causes the pores to clog. Most people do not have enough protein in their diet at it is the most expensive macro-nutrient.
So increasing your protein intake is often a good thing. Try not to exceed 2g/kg bodyweight unless recommended by a professional though.
Vitamins
Some studies have shown that Zinc and Vitamin A have been helpful in the treatment of acne. Zinc can be found in whole eggs, grains and mushrooms. Zinc is a good booster of the immune system. Also incorporating green tea into the diet can help to reduce the production of androgen.
So what are some of the food that one should eat or avoid to help in controlling acne? Here are some helpful tips that will help you with your acne cure diet.
1. Milk - milk is very good for babies and for children but it may not be very good for teenagers. This is especially so for those teenagers that already struggle with, diet tip, acne. Therefore, as part of your acne cure diet, you may want to stop or at least limit the amount of milk that you take. Experts have shown that there are certain hormones in milk that may be a causative agent of acne breakouts. This does not however mean that you should completely cancel milk from your diet; a glass of milk in a day will not hurt you in any way.
Using low-fat or alternatives to milk may help.
2. Sugar, diet tip, - as part of your acne cure diet, you may want to watch the amount of sugar that you take. It has been proven conclusively that sugar causes acne breakouts. Therefore, avoid things like sweets, fizzy drinks and chocolates. Cut them out of your acne cure diet. This will help moderate your blood sugar levels and keep your energy levels more consistent too.
3. Fish oil - fish should form a big part of your acne cure diet; eat as much fish as possible.
Aside from being generally good for your health, the Omega 3 oils that are found in fish are essential for preventing acne and for healthy skin. Good sources of Omega 3 are tuna, cod and salmon. Fish oils may also be taken as an Omega 3 supplement.
4. Vitamins - your acne cure diet cannot do without vitamins; the most important being Vitamin A and Vitamin B5. If taken in adequate amounts, Vitamin A is a great cure for acne. For good healthy skin, Vitamin E should form part of your diet. Taking a good multivitamin pill may also work effectively.
